Moscow — Aeroflot has released tickets for flights to Naples and Verona. Regular flights on both routes are scheduled to begin on July 1, 2018.
Italy has traditionally been one of Aeroflot’s most popular destinations. Direct links with Verona and Naples will bring passengers closer to the Italian cultural and artistic heritage.
Verona will be especially popular with admirers of William Shakespeare – it was in this very city that the action of Romeo and Juliet unfolds, and travelers can visit Juliet’s House, where the heroine of the tragedy lived with her family.
Naples is the third largest city in Italy, famous for its Baroque architecture and unique museum collections.

Delta Air Lines and its partner Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, will launch new nonstop service between Detroit and Leon, Mexico, beginning April 30.
The state of Guanajuato, where Leon is situated, is known for its significant industrial activity, with strong automotive, leather and footwear, agroindustry, tourism, and pharmaceutical sectors, among others.
Detroit, the Motor City, is the center of the U.S. automobile industry and home of leading auto companies.
This new route creates an important economic bridge between the dynamic industrial centers of the two cities and connects customers to an expansive network of destinations via Delta’s Detroit hub.

SINGAPORE — Perth, Australia will become the second scheduled destination to be served by Singapore Airlines’ new Boeing 787-10 fleet.
Flights are expected to commence in May 2018, subject to regulatory approvals, initially on one of the Airline’s four daily flights between Singapore and Perth.
The 787-10s will feature Singapore Airlines’ new regional cabin products and will seat 337 customers in two classes, with 36 Business Class and 301 Economy Class seats.
Prior to the launch of services to Perth, the 787-10s will be operated on selected flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for crew training purposes, before the first scheduled service to Osaka in May 2018.
The first aircraft in Singapore Airlines’ livery completed its flight testing at Boeing’s North Charleston, South Carolina production facility on 9 February 2018.
Singapore Airlines will be the world’s first airline to operate the 787-10 and has 49 firm orders for this aircraft type. The Airline will take delivery of its first 787-10 from Boeing in March 2018. (Full Story Here)

TOKYO — Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce new amenity kits for customers in international First Class and long-haul Business Class from late-February 2018.
The kits designed by ETRO will be featured in First Class for flights departing and arriving in Japan, as well as in Business Class on flights departing from Japan.
ETRO is celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be the world`s first airline amenity kit produced by the Italian luxury brand company.
The Business Class amenity kit featured on flights to Japan was designed by Tatsumura Textile, a famous manufacturer in Kyoto making key contributions to the development of modern textile in Japan.
The outer surface of the pouch is made with an original fabric woven with a traditional Kikko pattern and ornamented with an elegant Setsugekka textile design with JAL’s tsuru (crane) motif. The color of the fabric will change every three months to depict the four seasons in Japan (Spring – Blue / Summer – Red / Autumn – White / Winter – Black).
This kit embodies JAL’s brand values of “Tradition, Innovation, Spirit of Japan” to evoke feelings for the cultural characteristics of Japan. (Full Story Here)

To celebrate the launch of daily direct flights on Japan Airlines (JAL) between Melbourne and Tokyo Narita, Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) and Japan Airlines have teamed up to launch an exciting consumer campaign called ‘The Tree of Senbazuru’ to raise awareness of the new service and grant two lucky winners round trip flights for two from Melbourne to Tokyo.
Senbazuru is the ancient art of folding and stringing together a thousand origami paper cranes.
The Tree of Senbazuru is a special cherry blossom tree of a thousand paper cranes with the power to make one lucky person’s travel wish come true.
The campaign will be held in two phases. During phase 1, The Tree of Senbazuru will be placed at Melbourne Central shopping centre on 24-25 February 2018.

MANILA — After receiving the 4-Star Certification from Skytrax, Philippine Airlines (PAL) will undertake major initiatives within 2018 to follow through on this historic milestone and sustain the 4-Star rating.
First in the lineup is the introduction of a new line of aircraft tailored for mid-size markets on medium-range routes.
The new Airbus A321neo is slated for delivery starting March, to be deployed on the new Manila-Brisbane nonstop route by May. With the
A321neo, PAL becomes the first Asian airline to utilize a narrow-bodied aircraft equipped with 12 full-flat Business Class seats.
All 168 seats (Business Class and Economy) on the A321neo have in-seat video monitors – another first for PAL’s single-aisle aircraft fleet – loaded with more than 300 hours of inflight entertainment. Economy seats are more spacious with wider legroom.
The eco-friendly and powerful A321neo engines generate less noise and can fly up to a maximum of eight hours. The whole cabin also offers free Wi-Fi connectivity.
A total of six A321neo and four Airbus A350-900s will be delivered within 2018.
The A350-900s – equipped with exciting cabin features in PAL’s most luxurious Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins to date – will start arriving in June, allowing PAL to deploy non-stop flights to the US East Coast through the polar region, along with more routes to European cities. SYDNEY — Qantas will establish a pilot academy capable of training up to 500 pilots a year, to help meet the increasing need for skilled aviators in one of the fastest growing global industries.
The Qantas Group Pilot Academy is expected to open its doors to students during 2019 and is likely to be established near an existing airfield in regional Australia to provide easy access to uncongested airspace.
It will represent an initial investment of up to $20 million to establish the new facility.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the academy would become a critical part of the national carrier’s long term talent pipeline – and an important resource for Australian aviation.
“Qantas has a proud history of having some of the best pilots in the world and we want to make sure it stays that way. By creating our own academy, we can train the next generation of pilots to the Qantas Group standard,” Joyce said. (Full Story Here)

TOKYO — All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s only 5-Star airline, will start providing a “Seven Allergen-Free Child Meal” from March 1, 2018.
The special meal is designed for children with allergies and is made without the use of seven common allergens (wheat, buckwheat, dairy products, eggs, peanuts, shrimp, and crab.)
Currently, ANA has a “Seven Allergen-Free Meal” and a “27 Allergen-Free Meal” for adults, and a “27 Allergen-Free Baby Meal,” which is for infants aged under two.
In response to the increasing number of passengers with food allergies, especially children, ANA decided to introduce a new meal dedicated for those children.
Elementary school meal advisors, as well as people with food allergies, were consulted to compose a special meal that appeals to children both in appearance and taste.
ANA will continue to enhance its customer service and provide a safe and pleasant journey to all passengers onboard. (Full Story Here)

Dubai, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Emirates will resume its flagship A380 service between Houston (IAH) and Dubai (DXB) from 1 June 2018.
This follows the airline’s recent adjustments to its US services with the launch of a new non-stop Dubai-Newark service from 1 June 2018 and the resumption of daily services to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from 25 March 2018.
Houston will join more than 40 destinations on Emirates’ extensive global network served by its highly popular A380 aircraft, including Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Kuwait.
Emirates will deploy its three-class A380 on the Houston route, offering a total of 516 seats, with 14 private suites in First Class, 76 flatbed seats in Business Class seats and 426 spacious seats in Economy Class, increasing capacity per flight by more than 160 passengers compared to the current Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates celebrated 10 years of service to Houston in December 2017, and has carried nearly two million passengers since its inaugural flight in December 2007.
Services to Houston were upgauged to an A380 in December 2014, but as part of Emirates’ fleet optimization, the decision was made in July 2016 to operate the route with a Boeing 777-300ER. (Full Story Here)
